Incident Resolution: Meta API Connection Expiration

Meta has acknowledged the incident that caused Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp profile tokens to expire and has confirmed that the underlying issue has been fixed. New and active tokens are no longer expiring as a result of this issue.

However, any profile connections that expired during the incident must be renewed manually. Platform functionality for those profiles will be fully restored once the connections are renewed.

We will continue to monitor the situation to ensure stability.

We are pleased to inform you that Meta’s API is no longer causing active profile tokens to expire. However, any Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp connections that were already expired during the incident will still need to be renewed manually.

We recommend that all users responsible for connected profiles respond to the expiration notification emails sent by Emplifi and complete the renewal process as soon as possible. Full platform functionality for those profiles will be restored once the connections are renewed.

We are currently experiencing an incident involving Meta’s API that has resulted in the expiration of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp profile connections. As a result, both content publishing and data retrieval functionalities are affected.

We recommend that all users responsible for connected profiles respond to the expiration notification emails sent by Emplifi and promptly renew their profile connections. Full platform functionality will be restored once these connections are successfully renewed.

Our investigation has determined that Meta has invalidated the authorization for third-party integrations. We have reported this incident directly to Meta and are awaiting their official statement regarding the cause.
